Hi, I’m Robin Sweeton.  I appreciate you checking out my website, and the handmade items that I have to offer.

Sweet Robin’s Nest is a place to shop, and perhaps be inspired to dig into the
linen closet and find some treasures that Grandma or a special family member made, and treasured.

Over the years, I’ve fallen in love with many unique fabrics, beautiful embroidery, tatting, different laces and vintage photographs. Like many artists, I’m drawn to searching antique stores and shops for materials to use for future projects. When you can bring new life to old pieces, it’s very gratifying.

As a seamstress and lover of vintage linens, beautiful lace, antique buttons
and vintage notions, my eye is always pulling these combinations together and
wondering about the possibilities.

Many of these pieces can be reclaimed into aprons, bags, or other items. Your vision can become a work of art that’s one of a kind….
I would love to make that happen for you!

I find it very satisfying to create and offer unique vintage style to the items I make, while using beautiful fabrics and embellishments.  Embellishing my work is the icing on top…..
One of the things I love to embellish is my handmade cards. I stitch on my cards to give them extra dimension and texture. Something else I love to embellish is my fabric pumpkins.  I enjoy adding unique stems, leaves, and random pieces I find from nature.

I often find myself thinking that the project I’m currently working on is
“my favorite piece ever”, until the next project!!

Having some of my aprons published in the “Somerset Studios" publication
of Apron*ology was a real honor and validation of my work.  For five years my aprons were selected.

Another highlight in my sewing career, was creating the wardrobe/costuming for Mary and disciples in a couple of Easter videos for K-LOVE radio station.
Creating authentic wardrobes from photos and history was really fun!

The creative piece of my life is of great importance to me, along with the joy of spending
time with our family and the daily life of working, raising backyard chickens, collecting old aprons, as well as fishing when there’s time!

Thank You!
Robin
